A Little About Me...

As you’ll soon enough come to conclude for yourself – I just LOVE DOGS. But what you might not know about me… is that I love writing too. So much so in fact, that I studied it at degree level and hold a BA (hons) in Literature and Creative Writing. I also currently work as a part-time writer, producing website material for a well-known TV channel - that’s in between studying, chasing around fields, fishing tennis balls out of rivers, jumping agility hurdles, falling in rivers, tripping over agility hurdles… you get the idea.
In fact, it was thanks to my dog that I even landed myself the writing job in the first place. At the time of application, I was living the high life in a city-centre apartment with my faithful terrier-cross, Rodney, and my long-suffering fiancé. I happened to mention Rodney on my application:
‘I'm currently sharing my life and love of literature with my favourite hound, Rodney. We just love to spend our evenings digesting a good book, with Rodney gnawing especially earnestly at the hardbacks on the lower shelf.’
Apparently this made my boss smile.
(That’s right – my dog chewed my apartment to pieces – and at the time I didn’t really have much of an idea why, or what I could do about it! But now… those days are well and truly behind us.)
I guess the point I’m trying to make is this: this blog was always going to happen. Writing meets dogs… my two favourite things in the whole world are having a virtual high-five online, and I’m in charge of it! Oh you can bet I’ll be spending lots of time here - let me just put the kettle on, and load up the tennis ball launcher…
So watch this space for regular updates on what I’m up to with my own dogs, plus plenty of original articles offering help and advice on common problems that dog-lovers are dealing with on a daily basis.
